May is Mental Health Awareness Month!
Everyone should go to therapy once in their life. It can be life changing as well as disappointing. Therapy is truly a reflection of the work you are willing to do, as well as the therapist you choose to support you through it. Not everyone is ready to sit down and be vulnerable about their thoughts and feelings. However, therapy is a way to connect with those vulnerabilities and feelings even if you cannot yet express them.
If you have been to therapy and you didn't like it, or it wasn't helpful, try again. You are not the same person that you used to be. The experience may be different this time. Therapy is a reflection of you, so dig in. Open up. Talk about the things in your head that you are scare to say out loud. Disagree with your therapist. Engage in positive conflict. Therapy is a controlled interpersonal experience with a trained professional to help you learn skills to manage your day to day life. Make the call and try it.
