SABANOH MENTAL HEALTH
Counseling for the Woman Who Does It All
Sabanoh is a West African word that means "It Belongs to Us."
It is our lives, and as women we must do more than inhabit the world
but persist in it, until our life is a reflection of our inner most desires.
MAYA ANGELOU
"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you."
WHAT TO EXPECT
THE FIRST STEP IN YOUR THERAPEUTIC JOURNEY
When you come through our door you will be greeted with a smiling face, an empathetic ear, a knowledgeable clinician, in a comforting environment. The first few sessions are focused on making you comfortable with therapy, building a relationship with your therapist, and orienting you to your therapeutic journey.
Your therapist will gather important information about you and the situations causing you distress to create an individualized treatment plan. Therapy is about self-discovery not advice giving. We believe you are the expert in your life and your therapist will help guide you to your own truth.
To gain the most from therapy it is recommend to actively participate and come regularly to your sessions. Sessions may be 30-90 minutes long depending on what is right for you.
